His performance caught the eyes of the producer. He got a role in the TV series School 2 (1999-2000).

In 2012, Dong Wook worked as the MC of talk show Strong Heart. He took the role until January 2013. He also became a cast member of the reality show Roommate from 2014 until 2015.
He then starred in Guardian: The Lonely và Great God or better known as Goblin. The năm 2016 TV series was a huge hit. It helped launched the actor into stardom.
